Song of the Mouse and the Fox
Once upon a time a mouse met a fox in the forest in the great green forest,
Forest of a land where the other little creatures of the green and great big forest used to run about and live and laugh.
And think that it was grand, ... And think that it was grand.
And so the mouse met the fox, and the fox met the mouse
And they used to get together near the fox's house.
Just to talk about the weather and the day. Oh how happy then were they.
'Bout the weather and the day. Oh how happy then were they.
With a Ho and a Hey, and a fiddle dum dum day.
And soon the fox liked the mouse, and the mouse liked the fox
and they used to go a-walking by the river near the rocks. Yes, they liked to go a-walking and forever they were talking
They were talking on the way. but they didn't meet one day.
With a Ho and a Hey, and a fiddle dum dum day.
Oh No. The fox wasn't there, though the mouse looked everywhere
And he looked and kept on calling. Soon the mouse was in despair.
When the shades of night were falling homeward bound the mouse went crawling
Ever calling Fox's name. But he never ever came.
Again so the story has a sorry end.
The mouse is without a friend.
Without a Ho and a Hey, and a fiddle dum dum day.
